St Bart’s Church Cooks

Please note: the under-16s in the photo did not serve the meal - they helped behind the scenes and dropped the food on the day

Mary Mags Dinners Cooks

Each Saturday night an amazing team of cooks donate their time, energy, money and culinary skills to prepare a 3 course meal for our hungry and lonely neighbours

The cooks willingly fundraise to cover all the food costs involved — each night costs between approximately $700-$900, feeding 100 dinner guests

We have incredible cooks from 28 groups, ranging from churches, schools, community groups and workplaces

We are looking for new cooks to join the 2025 roster

If you would like to find out more about joining the 2025 roster with a team of cooks, please email hello@marymagsdinners.org for any enquirers + available Saturday dates in 2025 will be shared in response + answering any questions

What’s involved for the cooks?

100 serves of soup [1-2 options max]
120 serves of a main meal [1-2 options max]
100 serves of dessert [1-2 options max]
*with at least 4 serves of vegetarian for soup and main

7 loaves of sliced bread [3 white & 4 wholemeal, no multigrain]
1kg of butter

5L of Sugar Free Cordial
5L of Long Life Milk

The majority of the food is prepared during the week externally (delegating widely highly recommended), on your rostered Saturday, 7-10 cooks are in the kitchen heating, chopping, preparing and serving food from 4.30pm - 7.30pm

We supply a more in-depth catering document once cooks have signed up to the roster

Please note: The minimum age to volunteer at Mary Mags Dinners on the night is strictly age 16 + each cooks team has to have a minimum of 4 adult cooks, therefore allowing 3-6 cooks aged 16-17
